Do you daydream about how you would spend the rest of your life with your romantic someone? If your answer is “yes” to all these questions, you may be a hopeless romantic.
A hopeless romantic is a person who is obsessed with the idea of romantic love. If you're a hopeless romantic, you daydream about love-filled moments where you will be able to perform romantic acts for the love of your life. However, as romantic as the thought may sound, if you're a hopeless romantic, you might never have had the chance to experience the one thing you have always wanted --- true love.
A hopeless romantic dreams of the fantasies that are usually seen in movies, things that an ordinary person would consider illogical, irrational or unrealistic. An average person would say that the movie “Titanic” is absurd because no one would risk his or her life for someone he or she has known for three days. It's just too good to be true. If you're a hopeless romantic, however, it is not just possible; it is probable. An average person may not believe in love at first sight. If you're a hopeless romantic, you may buy the idea of falling for a stranger in an instant. Another sign that you are a hopeless romantic: you believe in true love, in soulmates, in serendipity, in destiny and all the other stuff that an average person considers mushy.
If you're a hopeless romantic, you believe that somewhere out there is one perfect person for you, waiting to be found. You believe that once you found that person for you, you will give yourself to him or her completely, even unconditionally. You continue looking for that princess locked in a tower or the knight in shining armor, hoping for a “happily ever after” kind of ending. The only problem here is, that the perfect someone seems to be very elusive because of one reason. You tend to look for that perfection you have created in your head, that you always overlook those who are in love with you deeply.
It is also said that when a hopeless romantic is in a relationship, he or she tends to still for that perfection that may not be existent after all. Thus, many relationships involving a hopeless romantic fail because the picture perfect scenarios he or she has always dreamed of are seldom achieved. This is also why a hopeless romantic is usually dubbed “in love with love.”
