After the Wedding: Romantic Honeymoons

If you think planning your wedding is the most difficult thing you would ever have to go through, you might change your mind the moment you start planning your honeymoon. Traditionally, it is the groom who plans the honeymoon since the bride took care of almost everything in the wedding. However, to make sure that you and your partner will truly enjoy this event, it makes more sense for both of you to plan this together.

Just like a wedding, a honeymoon needs a lot of thinking and preparation. It's not enough that you know where and when to go. You need to make your first night together as special as each night of your life from now on. Thus, start your married life right by making sure that every detail is perfect. Here are some of the aspects that you need to focus on.

The Destination

There is no formula for the perfect honeymoon destination. It all depends on both of your preferences. You can choose to check in at some hotel or resort and have quality time together. However, if you have the money, why not make it extra-special and extra-romantic by choosing a more exotic or exciting destination. The tropics can be a great choice if you want a relaxing time together at the beach. A ski resort on top of the mountains is also an excellent choice. If you want to be more adventurous, Africa or Antarctica can serve you right. Whatever you choose, always consider each other's opinion. After all, you're not going alone, are you?

The Season

You see, the destination heavily depends on the season. You have to decide where you want your honeymoon to happen as early as you plan the wedding. Of course, honeymoons ideally come immediately after the wedding. Thus, the season plays a major role in determining where to spend your honeymoon. For example, don't go hiking in Nepal during summer. Don't choose the beach if it's winter.

The Budget

Then again, you may have already a divine place in mind but do you have the money? You need to take the budget into consideration just as well. If you want to follow traditions, it is the groom who should be paying for the honeymoon expenses. But since you'd be already married by then, plan the budget together. The destination will eat the biggest part of your budget undoubtedly.

While the honeymoon can be the perfect occasion to express your love and impress your love, there is no need to push your budget to the limit. After all, it's just your first night together. You still have so many nights to prove your worth as a partner. At the end of the day, it is not the honeymoon or the wedding that truly matters, it's your marriage.
